"It takes a village to raise a child"

Because learning doesn't take place only at school, Countryside believes in creating a welcome community for the entire family. Countryside provides a variety of resources and opportunities for parents to stay informed and involved.

  • Frank Kulle offers a group discussion for parents following the book: "Children: the Challenge", by Rudolf Dreikurs. Learn more.
  • Evening Parent Education class are offered throughout the year. The faculty covers a wide range of topics on parenting, classroom materials, and teaching methods.
  • Nationally recognized guest speakers are invited to speak to Countryside parents and the community each year.
  • Evening game nights, sock-hops, movie nights, ice socials and even camping trips are held throughout the year for families to get together.
  • Parents are kept informed of school activities through weekly newsletters and online calendar.
  • Teachers keep in touch with parents through scheduled parent/teacher conferences and email.
  • Parents are invited to observe their child in the classroom.
  • Parents have many opportunities to volunteer at school events: picnics, Grandparent's Day, Holiday Bazaar, Halloween Carnival, and much more.
  • Consultative home visits are offered for parents who would like advice on how to create a Montessori environment at home.
"To assist a child we must provide him with an environment which will enable him to develop freely."
- Maria Montessori
